Dale and the team welcome you to The Carpenters Arms at Limpsfield Chart, a traditional inn set in leafy countryside on the Surrey/Kent border. We've recently teamed up with the owners of much-loved Surrey hostelries Botley Hill Farmhouse and The White Bear, with The Carpenters Arms offering the warm welcome and delicious home-cooked food that has put its sister venues firmly on the map. Find us at the heart of the beautiful National Trust-managed Limpsfield Common, a wonderful ancient landscape to enjoy on foot, by bike or on horseback.
The historic Carpenters Arms dates back to the 1800s and has been at the heart of the local community ever since. Once owned by local brewers the Lashmar brothers of Oxted, it was later taken over by Westerham's Black Eagle Brewery, and we're now proud to serve award-winning real ales and lagers brewed nearby at Westerham Brewery. Today, as well as the comfortable bar and restaurant inside the original 19th century building, you can also enjoy our large garden and dining terrace in good weather, and the light and spacious Garden Room which can also be hired for private events.
Menus are devised by Dale to reflect the best seasonal produce, and offer a selection of favourite British dishes with a modern European twist, all made using locally-sourced ingredients. We also make a great cup of coffee and serve a delicious slice of cake – available at any time of the day. For food service times, please see our Dining page.see our menu
We host regular events throughout the year, from celebrating St Patrick's Day to barbecues in the summer. Take a look at our What's On page to see all our forthcoming events.
Take a look and see what's on the menu: whether you're after Sunday lunch, coffee and cake or a light snack, we have something to suit all appetites.
Head chef Dale works with the seasons to produce menus full of flavour, and we're proud to source our produce locally where we can.
